Bi-Fuel Generator Systems

A bi-fuel system simultaneously uses two different fuels to power a standby generator set engine. In these engines, Generac Power Systems’ gensets use a mixture of diesel fuel and natural gas. Its bi-fuel generators are certified by the Environmental Protection Agency from the factory, and tested and installed. Compare that to all other bi-fuel systems, which are aftermarket systems retrofitted in the field. Benefits of a bi-fuel system include:

  • Significantly longer run times with an available on-site supply of diesel fuel.
  • Lower capital cost per kilowatt than spark-ignited engines.
  • Improved reliability with redundant fuel supply.
  • Reduced diesel fuel storage needed and lower fuel maintenance.
  • Lower exhaust emissions than comparable diesel-only engines.
