Modular Power Systems (MPS)

Modular Power Systems (MPS) consist of several generator sets – each acting as a backup for the others so critical loads get redundant protection. This built-in redundancy also allows individual units to be taken offline for routine maintenance without losing coverage for critical circuits.

Features and Benefits

  • Scalability. Customers can buy the system they need today and then add units quickly and easily as needed. This means you can build your MPS as your power requirements grow rather than having to buy a whole new system each time or initially buying one that is too large for your needs.
  • Flexibility. Generac Power Systems’ MPS system is comprised of proven and reliable gensets that can be paralleled to match power requirements of up to 9000 kilowatts. These gensets can fit into smaller spaces and are light enough for rooftop applications. MPS modules don’t have to be physically located together, so you can better use your available space. Generac’s MPS also eliminates the space needed for switchgear and large external panel boards.
  • Serviceability. MPS generators use high volume, high reliability, over-the-road truck or industrial engines that can be easily serviced by qualified diesel technicians. Maintenance items and replacement parts are relatively inexpensive and readily available.
  • Vibration isolation. Standard vibration isolators virtually eliminate transmission of vibration from the unit to the mounting surface.
  • Automatic alarms and shutdowns. Generator functions are constantly monitored through a protective system that features solid-state circuitry for reliability and long life. Under National Fire Protection Association Section 110 (NFPA 110) regulations, the system automatically shuts down in response to certain critical conditions, such as high engine temperature, low coolant level and other conditions.
