Meet some of the dedicated people who built National Power and continue to drive it forward more than 30 years later.

Eddie Youngblood — President

Eddie is the founder and owner of National Power and serves as President, focusing on strategic growth. Eddie had several professional accomplishments before founding National Power, including establishing and managing sales operations for Exide Electronics, now Eaton Electrical. Over the course of his 12-year tenure there, Eddie grew from handling a $3 million territory to managing a $55 million book of national business.

A native of Dunn, NC, Eddie is a 1971 graduate of North Carolina State University, where he received a bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, followed by six years in the U.S. Air Force as an aircraft commander on worldwide missions in large transport aircraft. Eddie has built business relationships from his successful transactions across the United States that span the length of his 35-year career.

Brent Horton  Chief Financial Officer 

Brent came to National Power in 2016 to serve as the CFO, overseeing all aspects of National Power’s accounting and finance. Before coming to National Power, Brent spent five years at Red Hat, where he was responsible for Global Revenue Recognition and mitigating business risks. He also worked as an audit manager for nine years at Grant Thornton, LLP, a public accounting firm, performing audits and preparing complete financial statements for companies across several industries and ranging in size from start ups to $1B+ international companies.

Brent received a Bachelor of Science and a Masters degree in Accounting from NC State University. He is a Certified Public Accountant through the North Carolina State Board.

Ronald Phillips — Director of Sales, DC Power and Infrastructure

Ron came to National Power in 2014 to lead the continued growth of the DC Power and Infrastructure division, focusing on turnkey solutions to customers in the cable, wireless telecom and broadband industries. Previously, Ron worked as the Group Manager of the Electrical Power Division at Yancey Power Systems and led the Sales and Project Management Team at Nixon Power.

Since graduating from Iowa State University, Ron has continued his education. Most recently, he completed the Caterpillar Sales Management degree from Rutgers University College of Business in 2013.

John Dixon — Director of Sales, Power Generation

John started working at National Power in 2002 and, as the Director of Sales for Power Generation, is responsible for overseeing our Generac sales territory. John started his career as a Field Service Technician with Power Systems & Controls in Richmond, VA. Over the course of his 40-year career, John has amassed a wealth of knowledge in UPS’s and power generation sales through roles at companies including Virginia Tractor Company, Alban CAT, John Roberts Associates, Carter CAT, Piedmont Power Products and CED/DTE.

John received a Bachelor of Science in Applied Mathematics with a minor in Electrical Engineering from the University of Virginia School of Engineering and Applied Science.

Lamar Britt — Director of Sales, Power Quality & Reseller Group

Lamar has been an employee at National Power since 1999. In his current role as Director of Sales for the Power Quality Division, he is primarily responsible for managing distribution for our reseller customers. Before coming to work at National Power, Lamar worked as Senior Technical Instructor and a Test Engineer at Eaton Powerware. He has also worked as a Test Technician, a Field Engineer and an Area Manager.

Before beginning his 34-year career in the UPS industry, Lamar received a degree in Electronics Engineering and Technology from Johnston Community College. 

Craig Grant — Director, Field Installation

Craig began working at National Power in 2015 and, as the Director of Field Installation, he is responsible for overseeing all project managers and maintaining consistent processes for the purchasing, tracking and installing of equipment. Craig began his career in the construction and welding fabrication fields, before switching over to the telecommunications industry. During that time, Craig worked as an Installer and Field Manager at Trinity Telecom, a co-owner at C3 Communications, an Installer and Project Manager of Operations at Benning Power Electronics, and a Project Manager at Medina Consulting.

Craig is also an Emerson Network Power Lead Installer.

Kris Wilcox — Director, National Accounts & Generator Service

Kris started with National Power Corporation in 2011 as a technician. He became National Powers first “ Master Technician” for Generac generators in 2013. He then moved into a Project manager role where he excelled at providing excellent customer service. In 2015, Kris, tried his hand in sales. He became the National Account Manager for one of the largest Cable providers in the US.

Today Kris is the Director of National Accounts and Generator service. Kris Wilcox has been in the generator service industry for 13 years after his time in the US Marine Corps.

Kris served in the US Marine Corps. From 2000 – 2005 where he worked on support equipment for CH53 Helicopters.

Susan Wolters — Director, HR & Corporate Administration

Susan joined National Power in 2015 and oversees all aspects of human resources and administration. Susan’s experience before coming to work at National Power is diverse and includes roles in the banking, pharmaceutical and real estate industries. She has settled at National Power because she says that the people are “some of the absolute best.”

A graduate of Randolph-Macon College, Susan has completed many of the leadership development programs offered by the Bell Leadership Institute in Chapel Hill. In 2013, Susan achieved her Senior Professional in Human Resources certification, and then received her Senior Certified Professional designation from the Society for Human Resource Management in 2015.
